The short version
Your financial data never goes to our servers — we have none, no account system, and no access to it. Paycheck Debt Planner stores everything you enter locally, using your phone's built-in storage. Two things leave your device, and neither is your financial data: what Apple and our billing provider (RevenueCat) need to process a Premium purchase — an anonymous subscription identifier — and, if the app crashes, an anonymous technical report. If you choose to switch on iCloud Backup, a copy of your plan is also kept in your own Apple account.
We don't collect your name, email address, or any personally identifying information. We don't require an account. We don't have access to your debts, bills, goals, or paycheck amount.
What data the app stores
Everything you enter — paycheck amount, pay cycle, required bills, debts, savings goals, and plan settings — is saved to your device's built-in local storage, on your iPhone or iPad. This data:
- Stays on your device — it is never sent to us or to any server
- Is not synced to iCloud, or anywhere else, unless you turn on iCloud Backup yourself (see below)
- Is deleted permanently if you tap Delete All Data in Plan Settings, or if you uninstall the app
The only exception is the optional Export Backup feature, which lets you save a local file to your Files app or share it manually. That file is entirely under your control — the app does not send it anywhere.
iCloud Backup (optional, off by default)
You can turn on iCloud Backup in More → iCloud Backup. It is off until you switch it on. When enabled, a copy of your plan is saved to your own iCloud account so a new device can pick up where the old one left off.
This copy goes to Apple, under your Apple Account — never to us. We have no servers and no account for you to have, so we cannot read it, and turning the feature off stops any further copies being made.
One thing worth stating plainly: when you install the app on a new device, it checks whether a backup of your own already exists so that it can offer to restore it. That check reads only your own iCloud account. If there is no backup, nothing is read and nothing is written.
App Lock (Face ID / Touch ID)
Paycheck Debt Planner offers an optional App Lock feature — off by default — that secures the app using Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode. Authentication is handled entirely by Apple's on-device system.
Paycheck Debt Planner never receives, stores, or has access to your fingerprint, face data, or any biometric information. The app only receives a yes-or-no confirmation from iOS that you authenticated successfully.
App Lock can be turned on or off at any time in Plan Settings. If your device has no biometric authentication or passcode configured, App Lock will not prevent you from accessing your data.
See it in action (the guided demo)
The app offers an optional "See it in action" demonstration, on first launch and from the Premium screen. It walks through a fully worked example plan so you can see how the app behaves before entering anything of your own.
The example figures are not yours and are never mixed with your data: the demo runs on its own temporary copy, so nothing it shows is saved to your plan. It creates no account and sends nothing off your device. You can leave it at any time — the exit is on screen throughout.
Notifications
If you enable notifications, the app schedules local notifications on-device — no notification server is involved. Paycheck-eve reminders and upcoming bill alerts are triggered by iOS's built-in notification system using only dates and text you've already entered into the app.
Enabling notifications does not give us access to any additional data. You can disable notifications at any time in your device's Settings app or inside the app.
In-App Purchases (Premium subscriptions)
Premium subscriptions are processed by Apple via the App Store. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. RevenueCat receives a device-level anonymous identifier and your subscription status — it does not receive your name, email, financial data, or any information you've entered into the app.
RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy. Apple's App Store privacy practices are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
We do not store, see, or process your payment information at any point. All payment handling is managed entirely by Apple.
Analytics and crash reporting
No behavioral analytics. Paycheck Debt Planner does not collect or transmit usage statistics, screen views, or tracking of any kind. Nothing you do in the app is reported to us.
Crash diagnostics are included. When the app crashes, it sends an anonymous technical report so the fault can be diagnosed and fixed. That report describes the failure itself — never your financial data, your balances, or anything you have entered. Identifying details are stripped before anything is sent, including your device model and any network information.
Children's privacy
Paycheck Debt Planner is designed for adults managing their personal finances. The app does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy — for example, if a future version began collecting usage analytics, or sent data anywhere it does not today — we will update this page and note the date of the change. The version number at the top reflects the app version when this policy was last updated.
